Welcome to this workshop on making a popup card about Yemen. In this workshop, you will learn how to create a beautiful and unique card that features three elements of Yemeni culture and history: the Sanaa architecture, the Sanaa old gate, and the Yemeni knife.
The Sanaa architecture is a distinctive style of building that originated in the ancient city of Sanaa, the capital of Yemen. The buildings are made of rammed earth and burnt bricks, and decorated with geometric patterns of fired bricks and white gypsum. The buildings have multiple stories and tower-like structures that blend with the surrounding mountains. The Sanaa architecture is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of Yemeni identity.

The Sanaa old gate, also known as the Yemen Gate, is the main entrance to the walled city of Sanaa. It dates back to the 17th century and was designed by Sam, the son of Noah, according to legend. The gate is ornate and impressive, and reflects the importance of Sanaa as a center of trade and religion. The gate is also a witness to the history and events that shaped Yemen over the centuries.
The Yemeni knife, also called the jambiya, is a curved dagger with a short blade and a medial ridge. It is worn by Yemeni men as a sign of social status, courage, and honor. The knife has a long history and tradition in Yemen, and is often used in ceremonies and dances. The knife is also a functional weapon that can be used for self-defense or hunting. The knife has a variety of shapes and designs, depending on the region and the preference of the owner. The most prized knives have hilts made of rhinoceros horn, which are very rare and expensive.

These three elements are examples of the rich and diverse culture and heritage of Yemen, a country that has been influenced by many civilizations and peoples over time. By making a popup card with these elements, you will be able to appreciate and share the beauty and uniqueness of Yemen with others. I hope you enjoy this workshop and have fun creating your own popup card. Thank you for your interest and participation.
